2024 Lend-A-Hand Grant Awards

A Dapple A Day Equine Center

This grant award will be used to purchase a run-in shed (shelter) for their herd of therapy horses at their new facility.

After the Fire, Inc.

Funding will be used to continue giving fire victims gift cards for supplies they have lost in the fire. 

Almost Home Rescue

Grant funds will be used to offer communities low cost vaccine clinics monthy.

ASCEND Mental Wellness

Grant funds will be used to support the lunch program at ASCEND Mental Wellness' East Side Center Physchological Club, a key initative of ASCEND Mental Wellness.

Ballston Area Community Center

Funding will be used to purchase musical instruments and/or sensory musical toys for the Pre-K level to be used in the universal pre-k programming.

 

Battenkill Community Services

Grant funding will support the art supplies needed for the "Art with Heart" Art show which will feature a curated selection of artworks from local artists with disabilities.

Bikeatoga

The requested grant award will be used to obtain safety equipment (lights, locks, and helmets) that they distribute to anyone who comes to Bikeatoga with  no questions asked on a donation basis with no one turned away for lack of funds.

Camp Abilities Saratoga

Lend-a-Hand grant fundsw will be used to fund the cost of adapted sports equipment necessary to participate in the camp's sports programs.

CAPTAIN Community Human Services

Grant funds will be used to support the Getting Ahead Program supplies. The program is a valuable link for under-served, marginalized, and low-income households, which provides evidence based cirrculum and pratices to help lift people out of poverty, build resources and resiliency, and develop a different future story for themselves and their family on a generational scale.

 

Center for Disability Services DBA Prospect Center

Grant Funds will be used to purchase food items and necessary supplies.

Corinth Aims to Reach Everyone (CARE)

CARE will use the grant award to purchase (8) weeks of nutritious, kid-friendly meals and snacks to support (48) food-insecure elementary students from low-income families.

First Baptist Church of Ballston Spa's Summer Lunch Program

The grant award will be used to purchase food items and necessary supplies for the summer lunch program.

Floydwarriors.com

Floydwarriors.com provides meals and contracts cleaning services to help families battling cancer. All funding received will help provide relief to all who apply.

Franklin Community Center

Grant funds will be allocated to cover operational costs necessary to run Project Lift.

 

Gateway House of Peace

Gateway House of Peace provides a peaceful, healing place to care for two terminally ill people and their families in the last three months of life. Grant funds will be used directly for program costs.

Glens Falls Area Youth Center

Grant funding will be used to assist the Summer Reading Program.

Glens Falls Independent Living Center DBA Southern Adirondack Independent Living

The grant award will be used to develop and distribute budgeting starter kits for consumers receiving assistance with budgeting at Southern Adirondack Independent Living (SAIL). This includes purchasing essential budgeting tools like budgeting books, planners, binders, and more.

Greater Glens Falls Senior Center

The funds will be used to purchase gifts for those not adopted by the community and to purchase wrapping paper, boxes, tape, ribbons, and tags.

High Peaks Hospice

Funds will be used to purchase wound care supplies.

Home Made Theater, Inc.

Grant funds will be allocated to support various production-related expenses such as set design, costumes, and/or props.

Hudson Crossing Park

Funds will be used to purchase (5) wrought iron benches which will be installed at the entrance of the park's "Meadow in the Sky" trail.

Hudson Mohawk Area Health Education Center

Funds will be used to support the Medical Academy of Science and Health Camp (MASH) with Health Exploration booklets, scrub tops for students, stethoscopes for students, supplies for activities, camp bags, and other giveaways for students.

        

Nipper Knolls Equine Center

The grant award will be used to help keep therapeutic horses happy and health with the purchase of hay, grain, and supplements.

North Country Wild Care

Grant funds will be used to support wildlife rehabilitators with food, formula, medications, education, and caging. It will also be used to educate the public about wildlife and encourage new rehabilitators. 

 

Olde Saratoga Seniors Club

The grant award will be used to continue to defray the costs of day trips for members of the senior group who might not otherwise be able to participate in outings and experiences due to the costs of the events.

Operation Adopt a Soldier

Grant funds will be used to pay for the postage to send care packages to active duty soldiers.

Queensbury Senior Citizens, Inc.

The grant award will be used to reduce the cost of day trips for seniors during the 2025 calendar year.

Read to Recovery/Saratoga Springs Public Library

The Lend-A-Hand grant will be used to help sustain access to a carefully curated collection of literature addressing recovery available for free to the community by allowing the replacement of 250 of the original 400 books which have been taken by those in need.

Rebuilding Together Saratoga County

Grant funds from ATCCF will be used to help (60) homeowners in need live in safer and healthier homes by purchasing and delivering home safety kits.

 

Robovines, Inc.

The Lend-A-Hand grant will help support the building of a maker's space which will teach youth more STEM beyond robotics and continue to educate the community.

Roundabout Runners Club

This grant will be used to purchase materials and equipment to upgrant the current home trail in Luther Forest.

NYSARC, Inc. (Saratoga Bridges)

Grant funds will be used to purchase supplies for the art program at the Creative Endeavors Art Center including emulsions, inks, scrub pads, squeegees, screens, and shirts, and bags.

Saratoga Center for the Family

This Lend-A-Hand grant will be used to help pay for children and family's therapy sessions who otherwise  might not be able to receive those services.

Saratoga County Children's Committee

Grant funds will be used to help fund their largest program, the Empty Stocking Project.

Saratoga Hospital Foundation

This grant will be used to provide massage therapy to patients undergoing cancer treatment at Saratoga Hospital.

Saratoga Pride, Pride Center of the Capital Region

This Lend-A-Hand grant will be used to help underwrite the annual Saratoga Pride Festival held in June of 2025.

Saratoga Sponsor-A-Scholar

Grant funds will support the purchase of computers for new high school students entering the program as 10th graders.

Senior Citizens Center of Saratoga Springs

Grant funds will be used to sibsidize the senior bus trip program in 2025, keeping them affordable and accessible.

Servants of the Word, DBA Open Door Mission

This Lend-A-Hand grant will help pay for direct food costs for Community Kitchen, Food Pantry, and Backpack programs.

Shelters of Saratoga

This grant will help fund the guest assistance program, which covers the purchase of essential work-related items like uniforms and boots, acquiring medical supplies not covered by insurance, transportation to work appointments, household items, perscriptions, obtaining identification documents, and securing basic neccessitities. 

Sleep in Heavenly Peace: NY-Mechanicville

This grant will be used to purchase lumber, hardware, mattresses and bedding for the building and delivery of 12 beds to children ages 3-17 that don't have one in Saratoga, Warren, or Washington Counties.

Stories for Success Saratoga

This Lend-A-Hand grant will be used to help continue the "book bag" efforts at Saratoga Hospital and Capital Region UPK programs from January to March. Expenses include purchasing new books, paper bags, stickers, and printing costs.

The Wesley Foundation

Funding from the Lend-A-Hand grant program will be used to purchase two wound care carts. These carts are an essential item to the facility being that they hold supplies for the nurses to perform care on wounds. By purchasing two wound care carts, this will allow the facility to have one cart on each floor of the Health Care Center.

 

Tri-County Literacy Center

Grant funds will allow the Center to continue delivering quality literacy tutoring services to adults in Washington County in upstate NY. The funds will be used to help with costs for supplies.

Warren Washington County Homeless Youth Coalition, DBA Wait House

Funds will support youth discharging from WAIT Houses's shelter programs into permanent housing. They will cover moving costs and help youth purchase needed items including household supplies and basic furnishings.

Wellspring

This grant will help support client emergency needs that are essential to assisting abuse survivors in crises and with their recovery and transition plans.

Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park

Grant funds will allow for financial accessibility by providing free snowshoe rentals to program participants so that there will be year-round education programs for the public about how to be better stewards of the environment of upstate New York and the Saratoga Sandplains, without any financial barriers.
